National Evangelists

Each National Evangelist conducts weekly three-day festivals throughout India's most unreached villages to share the Gospel to people who have not heard. Evangelists introduce 5,000-10,000 people to Jesus as Savior each year.

Jacob Chinnapelly

Jacob's story

As a college student, Jacob was a Naxalite and made strife with the government to bring social equality in the community and to save the rights of the downtrodden.

Then in 1987, a friend invited him to a Christian meeting. A lady brought a sick baby to the meeting, and was instantly healed after receiving prayer. Through this healing, Jacob accepted Christ and became the first in his family to become a Christian.

In 1991, Jacob had a vision from God:

A strong man had entered a big city that was filled with much murder and sin. In the vision Jacob rebuked the strong man and told him to leave, but he would not listen. Then Jacob had an idea. He fasted and prayed to God and told the strong man to leave. Heeding the warning, the strong man sat up and left. Then many people came to Jacob for Bibles.

Jacob interprets this vision as many coming to Christ.

Jacob has a rich devotional life and spends much time in prayer. His desire is to hear the word of God and then preach it. He reads books about the Bible and has a desire to introduce Christ to people.

In 1991, Jacob has been in ministry pastoring in Natsompet near Warengal. In 2009, he heard about Oasis through the Hyderabad Bible College Conference. Jacob is an evangelist and is grateful for those who cover him in prayer as he shares the gospel.

Jacob is married and has three children.

Will you help Oasis national evangelists reach the unreached people of remote villages?
