About Oasis
Oasis World Ministries (OWM) is located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. It was born out of God's call to Pastor Tom Elie in 1996 to reach the hearts and souls of third-world people through open-air festivals, training seminars, and social-need projects such as drilling fresh-water wells in the remote regions of the 10/40 window.
A God-sized Goal
John Maxwell once said, "A goal without a deadline is just a dream." So with that in mind, Oasis World Ministries set out on a quest to reach ONE MILLION decisions for Christ by the end of 2010. This goal had been set in 2000 when Oasis had only reached 15,836 decisions for Christ. Reaching a million decisions for Christ in ten years was a lofty goal that could only be accomplished with God's help.
January 2011
The last of the December 2010 reports from our 30 Oasis national evangelists have all come in, and Oasis World Ministries has exceeded our first MILLION soul goal. (Drum roll, please...) 1,007,379 people have indicated a desire to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! Hallelujah!
Since 1996, Oasis World Ministries has seen:
Over ONE MILLION people indicating a desire to make Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior through gospel and healing festivals and the work of traveling evangelists to remote regions fo India.
More than 110 churches built in villages that had no Christian worship center
Over 380 fresh-water wells drilled in third-world villages that provide the daily water needs for over 190,000 men, women, and children.
Over 30,000 pastors and Christian leaders trained and encouraged to disciple new believers in Christ
Hundreds of new believers attending local churches after each gospel and healing festival
Early beginnings
In 1999, five OWM Board of Director members were elected and installed to help guide the further development of Oasis's strategies and plans as an independent non-profit entity. This has been accomplished in alignment with God's calling and Tom's desire to obey.
This collective passion has produced a unique, focused approach to integrating the many facets of OWM's work. These facets include: drilling fresh-water wells, supporting the work of national evangelist, building churches, hosting gospel festivals, leading pastor's training seminars, and partnering with U.S. churches.
To initiate its social dimension, OWM drilled its first fresh-water well in Africa in 1999. Since then, Oasis has raised the funds and completed over 380 fresh-water wells which meet the daily water needs of the people who live in remote villages.
